August 21, 2017

Horses of Hope’s Eclipse Event is offered to the first 60 guests who wish a completely unobstructed view for this unique experience!

Oregon will be the first to see the total eclipse of the Sun.  Salem is in the direct path of this total solar eclipse on August 21, 2017.

Come enjoy the solar eclipse in the peaceful countryside at Horses of Hope. We are offering an open house with refreshments, from 8:00 AM – Noon to our Eclipse guests who wish to view the solar eclipse on an east-facing area of Horses of Hope, with Mt. Jefferson as a backdrop.  (Please bring your own chair or blanket for added comfort.)

The solar eclipse will begin its partial phase at 9:05 AM, with the ‘path of totality’ expected at 10:17 AM!  At Horses of Hope, we will have about one minute and 55 seconds of total darkness at the peak of the eclipse.

Then take the time to explore our beautiful trails, winding through pine forests and the Willamette Valley’s rolling hills.  We welcome Eclipse guests to visit with our equine therapy herd & learn a little about the remarkable benefits these magnificent horses offer our clients.  Horses of Hope utilizes our horses to provide therapy for people with physical, emotional, and behavioral challenges.

Requested donation for the Solar Eclipse Event is $100/person, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting our equine therapy programs.  Payment may be made through our donation page or by contacting Horses of Hope at 503-743-3890 for payment at our office.
