Michelle Lechner

Barn and Horse Care Assistant

I started with Horses of Hope in the fall of 2022 as a volunteer.

My love for horses brought me to the facility, and the love of the program created a desire to become one of the Horses of Hope team members in January 2023. I was born and raised in the Salem/Keizer area.

Throughout my childhood and teens, I was an avid horse enthusiast with a passion for western style trail riding in particular. I would spend a couple of weeks each summer with my Aunt in the mountains of Southern Oregon where we would ride for hours at a time and explore the wilderness.

During my summer visits, I would also care for her horses. I enjoyed learning each horse's personality and gained a better understanding of the emotional intelligence of horses. Some of my best core memories throughout my life have involved horses.

My goal as barn and horse care with Horses of Hope is to help create positive life long memories for our clients and their families.
